GIAMPAOLO SIMI Giampaolo Simi was born in Viareggio, on the north coast of Tuscany in 1965. It?s the place where the dead body of P. B. Shelley was found after the shipwreck of his boat, for those who may concern. He played from 1978 to 1982 for the under18 team Stella Rossa (Red Star), the same club which Marcello Lippi grew up in. CARLO GRANDE Carlo Grande is a journalist for La Stampa and was for seven years the director of Italia Nostra, monthly magazine of the first Italian environmental association. He has written and produced short films and documentaries for Rai Television and Radio. His articles were published on the newspaper La Repubblica and the magazines Donna, Lettere and Travel. MARCO MATHIEU Marco Mathieu was born in 1964 in Torino, north west of Italy. He wears ?camisa 4? as central defender of Osvaldo Soriano Football Club (the Italian writers team) since may 2004: his first appearance was on a sunday morning match, against the ?Italian publishers team?, his first tackle - getting the ball of course ? made the opponent flying in the air. Since then, he faithfully fights, runs and tackles for his team, in love with the game as with journalism and literature. On and off the field. Since the last 15 years he?s been travelling around the world in search of stories to write about, as a journalist and as a writer. Lotsa them are about football, or the other side of it. Loving the real (and old-school) one, more than the modern (tv-champions-league-oriented) one, he supports Torino - THE team of his home town -as he likes Fiorentina and Genoa (in Italy), Sankt Pauli (in Germany) and Sao Paulo (in Brasil). He has published numerous stories in literary anthologies and magazines in Italy and abroad. His first novel, Rossenotti, won the Tuscania Prize and the Chianciano Prize. The Ballad of the Low Lifes is his second novel. Both the novels have been translated into several countries (USA, England, Germany, France, Holland, Russia, Israel and Bulgary). MARCO RUFINI The Edizioni e/o from Roma published three novels by Marco Rufini: "AFA" (2007, may); "Braccio da Montone-Vita d'un capitano di ventura" ( 2004, november); "il lago" (2003, november ). His first novel, "Sotto un cielo lontano", was published by Editoriale Umbra on 1997. Marco Rufini lives in Umbria, between Perugia and the Trasimeno lake, he's a lawyer specialized in draftimg and he was a amateur player of the top level. STEFANO SARDO Born in Bra, Italy, in 1972. In 1996 graduated in semiology at Turin University with a thesis on movie trailers. A screenwriter, he has written feature films sold to some of the most important Italian film companies, TV movies, series and awarded shorts. He has published several short stories and a novel, L?America delle Kessler, published by Arcana in 2002. He has worked for international Slow Food movement as a journalist, editor and press officer. He is a member of the artistic committee of the ?Cinema Corto in Bra? Festival (www.cortoinbra.it) and is the deviser of ?Slow Food on Film? (www.slowfoodonfilm.it) the first world festival about films on food, made in partnership with Slow Food He sings and writes songs for Mambassa, an Italian rock band that has already cut four CDs (Umore blu neon, 1997, Fri - Rti; 2M, 1999, Mescal - Polygram; Mi manca chiunque, 2002, Mescal ? FRANCESCO ZARDO Francesco Zardo (Rome, 1969) is a writer and, for the moment, is renting much of his writing to journalism. He published several books, between fiction, non fiction and "non non fiction" as like his "Come sopravvivere ai francesi" ("How to survive in Paris", Castelvecchi-Cooper 2003) and "Come sopravvivere agli italiani" ("How to survive in Italy", Castelvecchi 2004). "I cuori infranti" (Cooper 2005) is, finally, pure fiction. His football career started from the bench: then he played as a midfielder and left wing before having discovered his talent as a goalkeeper. This talent drove him back to the bench, and he is, at the moment, the second goalkeeper of the Italian writers team.
